Dubrovnik city council holds official session
A ceremonial session of the City Council of Dubrovnik was held today at the Marin theatre, during which this years laureates for public recognition were announced. The City of Dubrovnik prize for lifetime accomplishment was awarded this year to three recognized experts in economics� Davor Gjivo Gjivoje, doctor Miho Demović and professor Ivo Karač.
The city of Dubrovnik award for 2007 was given to the director of the Marin D. elementary school Damir Čaleta, Klapa Ragusa, the Dubrovnik League Against Cancer, the Dubrovnik society of Volunteers of the Croatian War for Independence and Robin Harris, author of �Dubrovnik: A History�. Special recognition was given to Dubrovnik athlete Sanja Jovanović for outstanding athletic accomplishment, and achievement of a world's record and promoting the reputation of Dubrovnik and Croatia throughout the world.
