Pag Island

Album: Pag, Region: Dalmatia Zadar Riviera

An island in the north-Dalmatian archipelago, third largest in Kvarner, situated between Kvarneric and theVelebit Channel, with a northwest-southeast extension. The south-western coast of the island is low, and the north-western is steep and high: the Pag Bay and Stara Novalja. No surface water streams are found on the island; there are springs near Metajna, Novalja, Povljane and Pag. The Island of Pag is one of the biggest Adriatic islands, having the longest costal line on the Adriatic, full of bays, coves, capes and beaches. Mediterranean settlements are situated along the very coast of the island. The northern part of the Dalmatian coast with its three millennium old and largest urban centre in the city of Zadar, is also called the door to the national parks.
