Archipelago Brijuni

Album: Brijuni National Park, Region: Istria

The Brijuni archipelago is situated in front of the western coast of Istria. The islands comprise three main islands: Veli Brijun (Big Brijun), Mali Brijun (Small Brijun) and Vanga as well as several islets and reefs. The coasts of the islands are well indented. Due to its favourable geographic position and low terrain, Brijuni Islands are known for their mild climate. BRIJUNI, are a group of two larger and twelve smaller islets along the West coast of Istria, near Pula, with the total area of only 7 km2. Both archipelago and the surrounding sea are under protection. Istria is the largest peninsula in the Adriatic Sea.
